I can feel the longing of a future self, waiting impatiently to take me to the other side of things

Rebirth — an idea slips into my mind as I watch the cherry blossoms outside finally in bright pink colour. We have been waiting for this moment for too long me and my flatmates, repeating sentences ever so often like “They’re going to bloom.” or “In Germany they’ve blossomed months ago.” or “It’s the cold climate in Scotland.”
But now it has finally happened. “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” (Anaïs Nin)
Rebirth — it echoes in my head. I can feel the longing of a future self, waiting impatiently to take me to the other side of things.

The idea of rebirth, the power to choose again, to let go of the past and transform yourself into something new and different gives me solace these days. To give into the natural rhythm of life, shedding our skins when we’ve outgrown them.
